Mandatory "Hello World"
Published at Oct 26, 2024
Hi! This is the second attempt at writing this post.
About me
I’ll be concise this time. I’m Daniel Castillo, a software engineer based in Spain. I’m a very curious person, which leads me to try every piece of tech or software that I consider interesting. This curiosity has driven me to explore a lot of cool things, from frontend to the obscure world of creating a simple game engine (which remains unfinished… for now).
But software development isn’t the only thing I’m interested in. Playing video games, messing around with hardware, playing volleyball, practicing aikido, reading… These are just a few of the many hobbies I have.
About this blog
I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time, but didn’t have the drive or confidence to do it. This time, I managed to get the confidence to design (fighting against my perfectionism), develop (having a hard time choosing which framework or library to use) and write this first post.
I want to make this clear: I will write about topics that are relevant and interesting to me. Tutorials about certain technologies, my opinion on some content. Maybe one day I’ll start writing stories, they might end up here as well. This is my personal little corner on the web where I can share knowledge or opinions and tweak whatever I want.
In July I created an earlier version of this blog using Zola, but it was too “simple” for what I wanted to in my personal website. Currently, this blog is powered using Svelte and SvelteKit. This stack gives me enough flexibility to develop and experiment as I want.
And that’s it for now. I’ll be sharing more posts about what’s on my mind and let’s see how this evolves. Time will tell if I’ll be regular into posting things here or not.
